Day 1 :
Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe. Drive northwest through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, passing traditional villages, farmlands, and scenic landscapes.
En route, enjoy a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you can take part in a guided rhino-tracking experience if time permits. Continue towards Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park.
After lunch, proceed to your lodge, check in, and relax as you prepare for the adventures ahead. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a short nature walk or simply relax at the lodge while taking in the surrounding scenery.
Day 2 :
Morning Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise
Wake up early for breakfast before heading out on an exciting morning game drive. The early hours are one of the best times for wildlife viewing, as animals are active before the heat of the day.
Explore the park’s northern savannah plains in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kob, hartebeest, and other antelopes. Your experienced guide will help you spot wildlife and explain the park’s ecosystem and wildlife behavior.
Return to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax.
In the afternoon, embark on a memorable boat cruise along the Victoria Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls. Along the riverbanks, look out for large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and numerous water birds.
The cruise ends near the bottom of the magnificent Murchison Falls, where millions of litres of water force their way through a narrow gorge. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 :
Morning Game Drive & Top of Murchison Falls
After an early breakfast, set off for another game drive through the park. Explore different sections of the savannah in search of wildlife that you may not have encountered on the previous drive.
Keep your eyes open for predators such as lions and, with luck, leopards, as well as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and various antelope species. The drive also provides excellent opportunities for photography.
After lunch and some relaxation, visit the Top of Murchison Falls. From the viewpoint, witness the dramatic sight and sound of the Nile being squeezed through a narrow rocky gorge before plunging downstream.
Enjoy the spectacular scenery before returning to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening.
Day 4 :
Murchison Falls – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Enjoy breakfast before checking out and beginning your journey out of Murchison Falls National Park. Drive south towards Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, enjoying the changing scenery along the way.
Upon arrival, check in and enjoy lunch. Later, take part in a guided rhino-tracking experience. Accompanied by an experienced ranger, walk through the sanctuary in search of Uganda’s southern white rhinos while learning about their behavior, habitat, and conservation.
After the activity, return to your accommodation to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Day 5 :
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Kampala/Entebbe
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. Depending on your schedule, you may make a final stop along the way for refreshments or to experience more of Uganda’s countryside.
Continue to Kampala/Entebbe, where your safari ends with wonderful memories of Murchison Falls, the Nile, Uganda’s wildlife, and the beautiful landscapes of northern Uganda.
